The University of Reading was founded in the 19th Century, and has seen many students graduate over the years. It was the only University to be awarded a charter between the two world wars. It was the first British University to have an industrial Research and Development Group on campus in 1972. Reading University is now one of the leading research-led universities in the UK, with over 50 research centres, including agriculture, physical and biological sciences.

If you are interested in studying at The University of Reading why not book one of their open days or campus tours. The campus tours and talks are on selected Wednesday afternoons during term time from 1.15pm until 3.15pm The tour will give you an opportunity to get a feel of the University. The Harris Garden often holds events for the general public it has flower meadows, a jungle garden and a beautiful cherry tree orchard. We are one of the hotels close to Reading University.
