Trip advisor review: It’s the people (Terry F)

Dinner with my wife and son. We were looked after very well indeed by Johnny (manager), David and Andrea, food was truly scrumptious. I had the Italian steak, my wife had the crab linguine and my son the carbonara; with some shared garlic bread and sweet potato fries. it was a faultless experience helped by a White Lady cocktail and Messina beer.

Trip advisor review: Lovely Eastern Med influences and friendly staff- great restaurant (Melissa Stills)

Had dinner here after an evening of shopping. The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable and the food very good. I like the eastern and med influences to the menu. I had the Prawn Saganaki for starters and the Smoky Chicken Pide for main which was delicious. I like trying new dishes and haven’t been to a restaurant that has Pide on the menu. My other half had the Chicken Milanese. All the food was cooked perfectly, and the atmosphere was lively without being too loud. Would highly recommend.

Franco Manca

If you are staying at the hotel and feel like eating something authentic at the last minute then Franco Manca is ideal, there is no need to book, just turn up and be seated. If you like authentic Italian Pizza this is the ideal place to eat in Reading town centre. A Neapolitan pizzeria which follows the classic Neapolitan pizza making process from the late 18th century you will experience the slow rising sourdough and authentically sourced ingredients with each bite.

Trip Advisor: Love love love the pizza! (Julie B)

I really love Franco Manca’s pizza, and was delighted to find we have a branch now in Reading. The decor is funky, the wait-staff are attentive, and the pizza is incredible. Best pizza ever, and that’s saying something! Plus I really like the rest of the menu which focuses on real food. To top it off, the espresso is superb, with a lovely subtle nutty flavour. All for an unreasonably reasonable price. I’ll be haunting the place, I’m sure.

Comptoir Libanais (french for lebanese counter) is a newly opened lebanese restaurant in Reading town centre, situated by the riverside in the oracle with beautiful views. The souk-like setting (bazaar-like) is colourful and fun. They serve healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner – including mezze – which is a great platter for sharing, wraps, tagines, lebanese style pizzas, fresh mint tea and baklawa – variety of sweet lebanese pastries.

There is no need to book, they also offer take aways if you feel like eating in your room at the hotel instead.

Trip Advisor review: Simply Scrumptious (Rachel P)

My husband and I visited here at lunch time and although it looked unlikely we’d get seated, we were almost straight away. Fantastic menu choices especially considering I’m vegan and my husband vegetarian. The manager was happy to go through everything on the menu to make us aware of our choices and to double check our dietary requirements. I had the falafel wrap platter and my husband had the halloumi and olive wrap platter. We were both really happy with our choices and if we lived closer would go here every day for lunch!

Trip Advisor review: Superb ( Debra Sober)

This place is slightly tucked away outside of the town, but absolutely worth a bus or taxi ride. We eat a lot of curry and I would say this is the best Indian restaurant in Reading. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The food is to die for….the choice is great for both veggies and fish/meat eaters. Ostrich Jalfrezi for the adventurous. Particular favourites are salmon special, paneer Baltic and king prawn nawabi also this place does the nicest Bombay potato I have ever tasted. Raju who own the place is such a lovely guy, welcoming people like long lost friends. Give it a go it’s really delicious.’
